aVenture Investment Company ("aVenture") is an independent research platform providing detailed analysis and data on startups, venture capital investments, and key industry individuals. It is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or investment advisor and does not provide investment advice or recommendations. The data provided by aVenture does not constitute recommendations or advice, whether by methodology, analysis, AI-generated content, or a statement written by a staff member of aVenture.

aVenture is not affiliated with any of the people, companies, organizations, government agencies, regulatory bodies, or investment funds we provide coverage for on this site unless explicitly stated otherwise. EU Region Support

EU Region Support
Chroma Cloud databases are now available in the EU, running on GCP europe-west1 alongside the existing AWS us-east-1 region. The new region offers full API parity, reduced latency for European users, and data residency for compliance. EU region support is available across all Chroma Cloud plans; Chroma Sync is not yet available in europe-west1 at launch.

Customer-Managed Encryption Keys

Chroma Cloud now supports Customer-Managed Encryption Keys (CMEK) on GCP and AWS, giving organizations direct control over their own encryption keys for data at rest. Customers configure a KMS key, grant access to Chroma's storage service account, and reference it in the collection schema. Data remains opaque to all parties including Chroma administrators unless the customer explicitly authorizes access. Built for high-compliance environments alongside SOC 2 Type II, SSO, and BYOC support.

Introducing Chroma Sync

Chroma Sync is a new Chroma Cloud feature that automatically handles chunking, embedding, and indexing of external data sources. The initial launch supports GitHub, using collection forking to process only diffs between commits rather than entire repositories. Enables version-aware retrieval at specific commits or branches, designed to support background agents and automated CI/CD workflows. More data sources to follow.
