What to expect at Dell Technologies New York Symposium: Join theCUBE Oct. 20

Most financial institutions today don’t suffer from a lack of customer data; the problem is how to turn the data they have into something useful.

The challenge lies in sifting through CRM logs, channel interactions, transaction streams and market signals that are frequently siloed. The solution is technology that can connect and unify data, understand context and act in real time. Moving beyond AI models and bringing these three capabilities together is the goal of the AI data infrastructure that Dell Technologies Inc. offers its financial clients.

“In many cases, the model is not the next constraint, the data is,” said Arthur Lewis, president of the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell. “That is the problem that the AI Data Platform was built to solve. Within the Dell AI Factory, it is the data foundation that curates, connects and serves enterprise data to fuel the AI, and especially agentic AI.”

How Dell’s platform creates a more efficient data path from raw enterprise information to AI-ready context in the financial services industry will be a central focus of the Dell Technologies New York Symposium on Oct. 20. Dell executives and industry experts will join analysts from theCUBE Research to discuss the growing role of agentic AI, AI-powered PCs and modernized infrastructure in shaping the financial sector’s future. (* Disclosure below.)

Four-engine architecture for financial institutions

Dell’s AI Data Platform provides a four-engine architecture with a storage layer that helps modernize data infrastructure and create efficiencies for financial institutions.

The platform includes a Data Orchestration Engine that uses the latest machine learning models and normalizes product documentation, while orchestrating retrieval requests and assembling the information needed for intelligence reports. A Data Processing Engine based on Apache Spark handles feature engineering, customer segmentation, and training for affinity scoring.

Dell’s Data Search Engine, powered by Elasticsearch, provides grounded retrieval through vector and keyword searches across product knowledge bases. The Data Analytics Engine exposes the Iceberg lakehouse as a governed SQL query surface that agents can call directly. Any MCP-compatible agent framework can discover available data products and execute governed queries without having to build a custom adapter.

A key part of Dell’s approach involves making structured and unstructured enterprise data accessible to AI agents while preserving the business context needed for reliable responses. The company’s Unified Semantic Layer is designed to address this challenge by connecting information across disparate sources.

“The semantic layer gives structured and unstructured information consistent business meaning, so a term means the same thing everywhere it appears,” said Vrashank Jain, lead product manager for the AI Data Platform at Dell. “It uses open models to fix the hardest part of building semantic layers: generating entities, definitions and finding meaning at-scale with human-in-the-loop for verification.”
