SST provides high-level Components (Nextjs, Function, Postgres, Service, etc.) that abstract cloud resources while supporting frameworks including Next.js, SvelteKit, Remix, Astro, SolidStart, containers, and Go runtime for Lambdas. Everything is defined in sst.config.ts; SST handles provisioning, state, diffs, and updates across stages with excellent local DX via Live Lambda (sst dev).
SST v3 (Ion) runs on the Pulumi engine with Terraform providers for speed and multi-provider support. Resource linking securely injects values and permissions into runtime code. It is free and open-source with an optional paid Console tier for teams, built by Anomaly Innovations.
