CedarDB Cloud is a fully managed version of CedarDB that supports connections from PostgreSQL-compatible clients. Accounts belong to organizations, which group projects; each database instance runs in its own project.
CedarDB offers three editions: Community, Enterprise, and Enterprise Trial. Community is free, has a 64 GiB database limit, and excludes enterprise features; Enterprise includes enterprise capabilities and dedicated support.
CedarDB, a Munich-based database startup, supports transactional and analytical workloads in one engine and has announced limited availability of CedarDB Cloud. The Technical University of Munich spinout is based on Umbra research, emphasizes performance on modern hardware, and remains compatible with PostgreSQL to reduce switching costs. It launched its cloud service after beta testing, following a €5.3 million seed round announced alongside its on-premise Enterprise and free Community editions; CEO Moritz Sichert says the company expects to raise again as it grows.
