Diversified Energy's Upstream Operations service produces primarily natural gas and natural gas liquids from a portfolio of mature, low-decline wells concentrated in the Appalachian Basin and Central Region. The operation acquires existing long-life producing wells and optimizes them to enhance production, extend well life, and reduce operating costs and emissions rather than pursuing capital-intensive drilling programs.

The service emphasizes asset integrity, proactive emissions detection and repair, and net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 commitments by 2040, delivering consistent free cash flow from stable production across roughly 70% Appalachian and 30% Central Region output.
