Flock Safety: Empowering crime elimination with ALPR tech for communities and law enforcement.
Demand for automated license plate recognition and connected public-safety technology continues to expand as agencies, businesses, and communities seek higher clearance rates for vehicle-involved crime, with Flock reporting rising adoption, third-party estimates placing annualized revenue near $500 million by early 2026, and expansion into drones and real-time response systems.
Growth is tempered by privacy and governance scrutiny from civil-liberties groups, regulators, and the press, pushing vendors toward shorter retention, stronger audit and sharing controls, and transparency measures that will shape procurement, state ALPR rules, and competitive differentiation across the sector.

Flock Safety announced a $275 million financing led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $7.5 billion valuation, with participation from Greenoaks, Bedrock, Meritech, Matrix, Sands, Founders Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator, reporting more than $300 million in annual recurring revenue up about 70 percent year over year.
The company said the capital would fund investigative-intelligence software including Nova, U.S.-manufactured drones following its Aerodome acquisition, interoperability integrations, and a 100,000-square-foot Georgia manufacturing facility, alongside tightened privacy guardrails such as a 7-day default retention recommendation and mandatory multi-factor authentication.
