Gro Intelligence: AI-driven software for global food and agriculture data aggregation and analysis.
Demand for agricultural intelligence kept growing through volatile crop, climate, and supply-chain cycles, and Gro Intelligence built one of the largest agriculture and climate databases of its kind to serve insurers, food and beverage companies, hedge funds, governments, and NGOs working on food security.
That market interest did not translate into a sustainable business: after layoffs and a bridge financing attempt in early 2024, the company failed to secure enough capital, told remaining staff it would close down in late May 2024, and later sold its IP and assets to Almanac.

Gro Intelligence kept its headquarters in New York while operating from Nairobi and Singapore, a three-hub footprint its founder crossed frequently while working with corporations, financial institutions, and governments on reserves management, trade policy, and food security strategy.
The company launched from Nairobi and New York in 2014 and grew into a global agricultural intelligence provider whose platform drew on hundreds of public and private sources before shutting down in mid-2024 after failing to secure further capital.
