Hippo Harvest is a controlled-environment agriculture company based in Pescadero, California, that grows USDA-certified organic leafy greens including spinach, arugula, spring mix, butter lettuce, crispy leaf, baby kale, and baby romaine. Its greenhouses use autonomous mobile robots and machine learning to handle planting, tending, and harvest, with a closed-loop, direct-to-root fertilizer system and beneficial insects plus peppermint oil in place of synthetic pesticides.

Founded in 2019, the company reports its methods use roughly 92 percent less water, 55 percent less fertilizer, and 94 percent less land than conventional field agriculture, and extend shelf life by about 30 percent. Hippo Harvest sells its packaged greens through retailers such as Sprouts, Albertsons and Haggen, Gus's Community Markets, and Amazon Fresh across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest, and in July 2026 closed a $30 million Series C led by Cox Farms to expand production at a new Hollister, California facility.
