HeadPulse is a sensor-based service that confirms concussion objectively and tracks brain recovery over time.
HeadPulse is a concussion assessment service from MindRhythm built around a newly characterized cranial physiology. A sophisticated sensor placed on the head records minute pulsations produced by each heartbeat, and the resulting cranial accelogram reveals deviations from a healthy baseline that appear after concussive injury. The measurement takes under two minutes and does not depend on patient-reported symptoms.
Because the signal can be tracked across repeat sessions, clinicians can follow recovery objectively and make better-informed return-to-activity decisions. The service addresses the limits of symptom-based concussion protocols, where athletes may feel recovered while the brain remains vulnerable, and aims to reduce the risk of repeat injury during the healing window.
