Overview
Analysis

Arbel is NextSilicon's clean-sheet server-class RISC-V processor core. It pairs a 10-wide issue pipeline and a 480-entry reorder buffer with three 256-bit vector units, and the company plans 64-core and 128-core enterprise parts aimed at data-center, high-performance computing, and AI server sockets. Full RVA23 compliance is intended to let existing RISC-V software run unchanged on standard Linux distributions with LLVM and GCC toolchains.

NextSilicon positions Arbel as an open-instruction-set alternative to proprietary server ISAs, both as a stand-alone host processor and as the host that keeps Maverick accelerators fed in heterogeneous systems. The company reports that customer and partner silicon evaluations with HPC program leads, AI infrastructure architects, and data-center operators are shaping the requirements for the production part.
