Open Robotics›Open Robotics› offers Open-RMF

Open-RMF, the Open Robotics Middleware Framework, is the interoperability layer that lets autonomous mobile robot fleets from different vendors move through shared spaces without colliding with each other or with facility operations. Its stack spans tiered fleet-adaptor interfaces, integrations for doors, lifts and charging infrastructure, cross-fleet traffic management, and map-alignment tooling. It has been deployed in hospitals, offices, airports, seaports, malls and factories.

Development has been open source, with the codebase and community centered on the open-rmf GitHub organization. Open Robotics publicly introduced the project in October 2021, the year it was named an RBR50 honoree, building on a multi-year collaboration supported by Singapore government bodies and industry partners. Since 2024, direction sits with an elected Project Management Committee under the Open Source Robotics Alliance, keeping the platform vendor-neutral while packages track ROS 2 long-term-support releases.
