VSCode coding companion that applies team-curated guidelines to code chat and contribution assistance.
Quack Companion is the VSCode extension of the Quack suite, turning team-curated coding guidelines into in-context assistance inside the editor. Its current capabilities are guideline curation, code chat, and contribution assistance, with smart linting temporarily disabled and code completion planned. The product is in beta and supports VS Code.
It connects to either the cloud-hosted Quack API or a self-hosted backend. Local deployments run open-source models through Ollama and recommend a GPU with at least 5 GB of VRAM, while GPU-less setups can use online providers such as Groq or OpenAI. The extension is open source and distributed through the Open VSX registry.
