Quintessent raises $40 million in Series A funding to ramp up production of its comb lasers for optical connections in AI data centers. Led by Cycle Capital, the round includes Goldman Sachs, Susquehanna International Group and Osage University Partners, following an $11.4 million seed round in 2024. The company says its gallium-arsenide quantum-dot lasers use 40% less power and generate light at eight wavelengths.
