Developed cloud-based software for scientific experiment design and process data management in life sciences research.
Riffyn's differentiator was the process model itself: experiments, materials, and results were linked objects, so data stayed comparable across runs and sites instead of degrading into disconnected files. That structure made methods reproducible by default and let teams compare results generated at different times or by different groups.
The platform connected to the statistical tools those teams already used, including JMP, Spotfire, and Tableau, which reduced the cost of adopting it. Because the record of a process was versioned, a change to a method could be traced, which mattered to buyers preparing regulated submissions.

Riffyn asked customers to model their processes before they could use the platform fully, which was a heavier adoption burden than a notebook or spreadsheet replacement. Teams that wanted a lighter electronic lab notebook had lower-effort options, and the platform's value grew only as the structured process model was populated.
Riffyn's brand did not survive its acquisition: the riffyn.com site was abandoned and later the domain was lost, and the product continued only inside Siemens as Riffyn X. Buyers who preferred an independent vendor with a broad application suite could choose a larger laboratory-informatics provider instead.

Riffyn sold a cloud system that recorded scientific processes as structured, versioned objects rather than as free-form documents. Research groups defined an experiment as a process with materials, parameters, and outputs, and the platform captured results against that definition so a method could be rerun and compared across sites.
The offering was introduced as the Riffyn Scientific Development Environment, renamed Riffyn Nexus, and later continued as Riffyn X within Siemens Digital Industries Software. It was sold to process development, analytical, and technology transfer teams in biopharma and industrial life sciences.
