Overview

Offshore Pumped Hydro Energy Storage uses a seabed reservoir, a floating surface reservoir, a connecting pipe, and reversible pump-turbines to move saturated sea-salt brine between reservoirs. The system leverages ocean depth and gravity to provide long-duration energy storage for power grids.

The product is designed as a modular and scalable offshore system that can deliver from one to hundreds of gigawatt-hours of storage. Sizable Energy has tested the technology in wave-basin laboratories and in-ocean demonstrations while preparing megawatt-scale pilots and commercial projects.
