Tectonus DMAX is a steel tension and compression brace built around a friction damper, positioned as a direct substitute for buckling restrained braces, eccentrically braced frames, and concentrically braced frames. It delivers damping, drift control, and ductility equivalent to conventional buckling restrained braces.
The brace is tested to ASCE 7 and carries a high damping ratio with a low overstrength factor, letting designers reduce seismic demand. Structural teams use DMAX to cut capacity design forces in new buildings and retrofits.
