This week marks an important moment for Zepz and for me personally. As Barrie Morris steps into the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer, I do so with a strong sense of responsibility and focus.
For too long, the pain that real people feel in sending, receiving, and managing money across borders has been ignored by the global payments system, a system largely built by and for the Global North. At Zepz, we believe there is a different way.
In a few days, on 24 January, the United Nations will mark its International Day of Education, which recognises the role that learning plays in shaping people and communities. This year’s theme, “The power of youth in co-creating education”, highlights young people as agents of change and reminds us that learning does not stop in childhood.
2025 was a year of focused execution in service of our customers. Across both WorldRemit and Sendwave, we strengthened the foundations of our platform and invested in what matters most to customers: safety, trust, reliability and a simpler experience from start to finish.
London, 18 August, 2026 – Zepz, the global payments group behind leading remittance brands WorldRemit and Sendwave, has identified a profound shift in the profile of global remittance senders. A younger, digitally native generation is now the driving force behind global money movement. Women account for almost half of all remittance senders, and today’s senders are managing increasingly interconnected financial responsibilities that span multiple households and countries.
Zepz, the global payments group behind WorldRemit and Sendwave, today announced the launch of the Sendwave Wallet, a globally accessible stablecoin-backed peer to peer cross border money solution. This digital wallet empowers customers to seamlessly send, store, and spend funds across more than 100 countries.
We look for exceptional people with the unique drive to challenge the status quo and create a real, positive impact on our customers’ lives.
My role has already evolved quite a bit since joining. I started as a People Business Partner, supporting a large part of the business across different regions, and more recently moved into People Operations to gain broader experience across the team. Now, a lot of my time is focused on project work – improving the employee experience, reducing friction in our processes, and making sure the employee lifecycle at Zepz is as seamless as possible.
No two days really look the same, but they usually start with checking in with the team. We’re spread across different locations, so staying connected is important. Payments is a complex space, but I love the collaborative spirit we have. Everyone is focused on doing what’s best for our customers, and people are always willing to jump in and solve problems together, which makes it a dynamic and rewarding environment.
As a Global Talent Acquisition Lead, one of the things I value most is the level of ownership that comes with the role. I’ve had the opportunity to lead hiring across multiple functions and regions – from legal and finance to marketing and tech – which isn’t something you often get as a recruiter. You’re typically pigeonholed into one area or region, so it’s rare to have the chance to spread your wings and work across the business in this way, which I personally love.
Financial inclusion is about expanding access in a way that is useful, practical and built around the reality of people’s lives. Financial Inclusion Week is a useful moment to ask what that means in practice.
Every transfer we power represents something bigger than a payment, whether it’s a parent covering school fees, a family staying connected or helping a community prosper. We exist to make that possible: faster, fairer, and with the dignity these connections deserve.
