California Transportation Commission

Founded in 1978, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) is a government agency headquartered in Sacramento. It was established to consolidate the responsibilities of four former agencies: the California Highway Commission, the State Transportation Board, the State Aeronautics Board, and the California Toll Bridge Authority. The CTC's core mission is to oversee the programming and allocation of funds for California's transportation infrastructure, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources to improve mobility across the state.

Notable affiliated individuals include members of the commission who are appointed by the Governor and legislative leaders. The CTC has played a pivotal role in implementing significant legislation such as the Road Repair and Accountability Act, which marked a major increase in state transportation funding. Through its annual reports and strategic initiatives, the CTC has significantly impacted California's transportation landscape, enhancing road safety, reducing congestion, and promoting sustainable transportation solutions.
