YC-backed Garage raises $13.5 million in a Series A led by Infinity Ventures to expand its marketplace for used public-safety and local-government equipment. Founded by CEO Martin Hunt and CTO Alaz Sengul, the company automates appraisal, listing, freight quotes, payments, and delivery coordination for buyers and sellers. Its platform serves customers in all 50 states, and the round brings its total funding to $18 million.
Alta raises an $11 million seed round led by Menlo Ventures to build its AI styling and personal-shopping product. The service recommends outfits based on users’ budgets, lifestyles, weather, and calendars, and lets them try looks on virtual avatars using digital closets populated through photos, receipts, or Alta’s database. The company says it will use the funding to expand its team and research and development; it has also partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America to offer Alta to members.
