Bluecore Energy raises $10 million in a pre-seed round led by Slauson & Co. to develop small modular nuclear reactors on floating barges for ports and nearby infrastructure. Founded by former Uber Freight employee Kofi Asante, the startup says its systems could power about 15,000 homes or meet a major port’s needs. Bluecore plans to use the funding to deploy its product and has secured a port terminal, barge, and test reactor pressure vessel.

AccessGrid raises $4.4 million in a seed round led by Harlem Capital to develop APIs for managing digital access credentials in Apple and Google’s wallet platforms. Its credentials use encrypted payloads and can be revoked through the cloud. The company plans to use the funding to strengthen security and build products and features, with automobile products among its planned expansion areas.
