Seattle startup Chiplytics raises $4.5 million to deploy its microelectronics verification technology and establish an inspection facility in Bellport, N.Y. Its AI-, automation- and robotics-enabled system screens every electronic component for counterfeits, substitutions, inconsistencies and quality issues, rather than testing samples. The funding includes $2.5 million in seed financing and a $2 million Air Force award, with Scout Ventures and Waypoint Ventures leading the round.
Antares Nuclear raises $470 million in a Series C to develop small reactors for U.S. military bases. The round includes $370 million in equity and $100 million in debt, led by Paradigm and Caffeinated Capital; Antares’ TRISO-fueled reactor is designed to produce 100 kilowatts to 1 megawatt. Its Mark-0 demonstration reactor has reached criticality at Idaho National Laboratory, and the company targets its first power-producing reactor next year, with military deployments planned for 2028.
