A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya, founded by former Spotify innovation head Máuhan M Zonoozy, builds small apps that let people interact with music without relying on generative AI. The startup has raised a $5.5 million pre-seed round and offers tools including a browser sound-effects extension and bop, an iOS app for remixing songs and exporting mixes to social platforms. It is also developing multiplayer remixing and a musical sandbox mixer.
San Francisco-based Altara secures $7 million in seed funding to build an AI layer that brings fragmented technical data into one platform for physical-science companies. Founded in 2025 by Eva Tuecke and Catherine Yeo, the startup connects data from existing systems to help engineers investigate failures in batteries, semiconductors, and medical devices. Altara says its AI condenses weeks of manual data triage into minutes; Greylock leads the round, joined by Neo, BoxGroup, Liquid 2 Ventures, and Jeff Dean.
