Zencap operated an online peer-to-peer lending marketplace connecting private investors with small and medium-sized enterprises across Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Incubated by Rocket Internet, the platform provided direct credit origination to give businesses fast working capital while offering fixed returns to investors.
In October 2015, global marketplace lender Funding Circle acquired Zencap to accelerate its expansion into continental Europe. The transaction integrated Zencap's European credit operations into Funding Circle's global small business lending platform.
