BlackRock MuniYield Quality Fund is a registered closed-end management investment company that invests in municipal obligations of states, territories and possessions of the United States, seeking as high a level of current income exempt from federal income taxes as is consistent with its investment policies and prudent investment management. Its common shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol MQY.
Under normal circumstances the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets plus borrowings for investment purposes in investment-grade securities, and it may invest up to 20% of its managed assets in securities rated below investment grade or considered of comparable quality. It obtains structural leverage through Variable Rate Demand Preferred Shares and tender option bond trusts. It serves shareholders seeking federally tax-exempt current income.
