OpenAuth Beta Launches as a Universal Standards-Based Auth Provider

OpenAuth Beta Launches as a Universal Standards-Based Auth Provider
Today Anomaly Innovations is launching OpenAuth — openauth.js.org — a universal, standards-based auth provider. It is in beta along with the new Auth component for SST v3 that uses this.\n\nOpenAuth is a new auth provider built on top of OAuth 2.0. It is a single-page app that can be deployed anywhere. Key features include:\n- Universal: deploy as a standalone service or embed into an existing application; works with any framework or platform.\n- Self-hosted: runs entirely on your infrastructure and can be deployed on Node.js, Bun, AWS Lambda, or Cloudflare Workers.\n- Standards-based: implements the OAuth 2.0 spec and is based on web standards, so any OAuth client can use it.\n- Themeable UI: comes with prebuilt themeable UI that can be customized or opted out of.\n\nAuth has been one of the most requested features in SST. With v1 and v2 of the Auth components, most users wanted a standalone, easy to self-host auth provider. Existing solutions were either libraries or SaaS services that held user data, and standalone self-hosted ones were too complicated to set up. Anomaly built OpenAuth as a separate project because a universal, standards-based auth provider should exist outside of SST.\n\nOpenAuth needs minimal infrastructure to run. The new Auth component in SST v3 can provision this. OpenAuth and the new Auth component are in beta; more docs, examples, and tutorials will be added over the next few weeks.
