Adfin was founded in 2024 by Tom Pope (ex-Worldpay, ex-Tink/Visa) and Ciprian Diaconasu (founding engineer at Mambu) to solve the systemic problem of late payments for UK SMEs. The company builds an agentic finance platform that automates invoice distribution, intelligent credit control, and payments across multiple channels including direct debit, cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and open banking. Its customers see late-payment rates roughly seven times better than the UK SME average, and the company serves over 1,500 UK businesses.
In May 2026 Adfin announced an £13.2 million (8 million) Series A led by Index Ventures, with participation from Visionaries Club and angel investors Stephane Kurgan (ex-King COO) and Andrey Khusid (founder, Miro). Total funding now exceeds £22 million (0 million) in under two years. The company intends to expand into end-to-end cashflow management, hire more engineers in London and Romania, and prepare for international expansion.
