Digit is a humanoid robot built for cooperatively safe industrial work alongside people.
Digit’s human-scale form allows Agility to target workflows in facilities already built for workers. The company says its current design can use different grippers and operate with people nearby.
Agility also offers deployment engineering and fleet management alongside the robot. That combination helps an operator test a specific material-handling workflow, connect it to existing systems, and measure performance before wider adoption.
In an August 2026 account of its customer program, Agility described fourth-generation Digit operating in separated workcells during pilots and ongoing service deployments. The article says those pilots collected operating data before expansion.
Agility’s current fifth-generation presentation describes a new design intended for cooperative work near people. This version follows prior field deployments; its introduction should not be treated as the origin date of the Digit family.
Agility first screens whether a customer’s repetitive physical workflow suits a humanoid and tests an initial use case at its own facility. It then validates the robot in the customer’s environment with deployment engineers on site.
The company says the pilot measures uptime, throughput, and reliability over a 90-day operating period. Successful customers can move to an ongoing Robots as a Service arrangement that includes software, monitoring, and support.
Digit is Agility Robotics’ industrial humanoid for moving materials through facilities designed around people. Its fifth generation is presented for autonomous work near staff and existing automation.
Agility describes interchangeable grippers, fleet software, and support for warehouse control systems. The robot is positioned for repetitive handling, palletizing, machine tending, and other physical workflows.
