AkzoNobel develops and sells decorative paints and performance coatings for consumers and industries worldwide.
AkzoNobel's world-class brand portfolio, including Dulux, International, Sikkens and Interpon, is trusted by customers globally and spans both consumer decorative paints and industrial performance coatings. Its presence in more than 150 countries supports broad distribution and customer service.
The company pairs this footprint with sustainability-led innovation, such as self-cleaning exterior coatings and science-based carbon targets. Consistent pricing discipline and cost efficiency have driven five consecutive quarters of adjusted EBITDA margin improvement through Q2 2026.

AkzoNobel targets full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA at or above EUR 1.47 billion on a standalone basis, excluding effects of the proposed Axalta merger. Mid-term, it aims for an adjusted EBITDA margin above 16% and a return on investment of 16% to 19%.
The proposed merger with Axalta, expected to close around the end of 2026 or early 2027, would create a coatings company with approximately $17 billion in revenue and roughly $600 million in cost synergies, subject to remaining regulatory approvals.

AkzoNobel competes on pricing and mix rather than volume alone: pricing contributed three percentage points of organic sales growth in Q2 2026. Management credits robust pricing and a relentless focus on cost efficiency for its margin gains.
The company maintains an investment grade credit rating and targets leverage of around two times net debt to adjusted EBITDA. This discipline supports steady capital allocation alongside the value creation plan attached to its proposed merger with Axalta.
