Albano Alves converts specialty paper and thermoplastics into self-adhesive, RFID/NFC and linerless labels and rolls of paper.
Customisation is the main commercial strength: labels are produced to order in any size and as roll, zig-zag or continuous fanfold, on the core diameter the customer's printer takes, with the adhesive and facestock selected for the job. The plant converts more than 200,000 paper rolls and labels a day and covers a broad paper-roll range for point-of-sale, receipt, scale and ATM equipment.
Certification against FSC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000 qualifies the company with buyers that audit their suppliers. Adding RFID/NFC label manufacture with inlays from an established inlay maker, and a linerless label line, lets customers take encoded labels and lower-waste label supply from a single converter.

Manufacturing is concentrated at a single Abrunheira site, so capacity, disaster exposure and delivery reach all rest on one plant. The company publishes no turnover, margin or customer figures of its own, and its Portuguese filings are reachable only through paid registry services.
It buys base paper, film and adhesive on the market rather than producing them, so margins move with converter input costs and with the shift to materials sourced outside Europe. European label demand moderated under inflation through 2024 and 2025, and the company's large-buyer channel is public procurement and association membership rather than a published distributor network.

Sales run on direct contact: the website carries no price list, cart or order form, and enquiries arrive by telephone or through the company's general email address. Four certifications, FSC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000, support qualification with buyers that audit suppliers, and the same standards are applied to the company's own suppliers.
Public procurement brings framework supply work, including a 2018 supply of thermal paper rolls recorded at an effective price of EUR 14,449,884. The company also belongs to APIGRAF, the Portuguese association of graphic, packaging and digital-communication industries.

Portuguese graphic and paper-converting companies surveyed by APIGRAF after 2020 reported a weak 2020, when most responding firms posted turnover falls above 50% and around 45% expected activity to return to pre-pandemic levels in 2021 or 2022. Roughly 30% planned investment, mostly in equipment.
At European level, label-industry reporting puts 2024 roll-stock volumes back at 2016 levels, with Europe at 22% of world label production and pressure-sensitive labels at 39% of the global label market. Demand is described as moderating under inflation, direct-thermal and polypropylene materials are growing with e-commerce, and consolidation and vertical integration continue to reshape the sector.

Prices are quoted per job rather than published. The company sets no list prices on its website, runs no online shop and offers no order form, taking enquiries by telephone or general email, which fits custom label and paper-roll manufacture where size, adhesive, material and print content drive the cost.
Volume, framework and tender terms stay unpublished; the only public price signal is a 2018 public-procurement framework for thermal paper rolls recorded at an effective price of EUR 14,449,884.

Albano Alves converts paper and thermoplastic materials into labels and paper rolls at Abrunheira, in Sintra. Its catalogue spans self-adhesive labels, RFID/NFC labels, linerless labels and non-adhesive cardboard labels, plus thermal, plotter, carbonless, plain, scenery and fantasy paper rolls, queue tickets and their dispensers, paper hand towels and gummed paper.
Labels are made from paper, polypropylene and polyethylene with permanent, removable, freezer, high-temperature or rough-surface adhesives, supplied blank or printed in any size. The RFID line encodes UHF 856-960 MHz or HF 13.56 MHz NFC inlays, and the linerless range replaces the liner with an anti-adhesive cover.
