Aside is a local-first AI browser for macOS built as a fork of Chromium. Its agent works inside websites a user is already logged into through agent tabs, with approval gates before payments, posts, or messages are sent, and browsing history is stored as local, editable markdown memory.
The browser includes a password manager built for agents, which autofills credentials without exposing them to the underlying model, using secure-enclave end-to-end encryption, scoped access, and an audit log. Users can bring their own ChatGPT or Claude subscription or API key, and plans span Free, Pro, Max, and Enterprise tiers.
Browser competition in 2026 has shifted toward AI that acts inside the browser, and the shutdown of ChatGPT Atlas by OpenAI in July 2026 opened room for new entrants. Buyers are now comparing browsers by how well their agents operate the web, not by search answers alone.

The figures are self-reported with LLM-based grading while independent verification is in progress, and the benchmark suite is published on GitHub.
The product acts directly inside websites instead of requiring per-site integrations, which extends its reach to internal tools and dashboards. Its local-first design keeps credentials invisible to the model, and the team has customized Chromium deeply for the agent-tabs experience.
Aside uses a freemium model with Free, Pro, Max, and Enterprise tiers. The Free tier pairs a bring-your-own ChatGPT or Claude subscription with 500 credits per month, three routines, the password manager, and memory features.
Pro triples usage and adds Ultrabrowse, unlimited routines, and Channels, while Max quadruples usage. Enterprise adds seat-based billing and team vaults for organizations.
