Aside is a local-first AI browser for macOS built as a fork of Chromium. Its agent works inside websites a person is already logged into, including email, dashboards, internal tools, documents, and spreadsheets, through dedicated agent tabs that pause for approval before payments, posts, or messages go out. Browsing history becomes local, editable markdown memory, and its agent-first password manager autofills credentials without exposing them to the underlying model, using secure-enclave end-to-end encryption, scoped access, and an audit log.
The browser launched on 2026-06-23 and gained more than 20,000 users in two weeks. It is offered in Free, Pro, Max, and Enterprise tiers with freemium credits, and it accepts a bring-your-own ChatGPT or Claude subscription or API key. Aside reports first-place results on three browser-agent benchmarks, including 99.0% on Online-Mind2Web.
