GeekWire challenges LinkedIn’s ranking of Seattle’s top startups, noting that Anthropic, Auger, Whatnot and Armada are headquartered outside the region. The list also includes Seattle-area companies Truveta, Yoodli, Worldscape, Overland AI, Gradial and Stoke Space. LinkedIn’s methodology measures employment growth, company-page engagement, interest in job openings and recruiting from top companies; it does not require firms on the Seattle list to be headquartered there.
GeekWire’s Fall 2026 GeekWire 200 ranks Bellevue-based Temporal No. 1, replacing fusion company Helion at the top of its list of privately held Pacific Northwest tech startups. Temporal’s software helps AI agents run reliably, and the company reports more than $250 million in annualized revenue with customers including OpenAI, Nvidia and Netflix. The update also highlights advanced-machinery companies scaling production, including rocket maker Stoke Space, drone maker Brinc and radar company Echodyne.
