BASF's Monomers bulk chemicals Sulfites line produces sodium sulfite, sodium metabisulfite, and potassium metabisulfite at its Ludwigshafen sulfite plant. The products serve water-treatment anti-corrosion and antichlor applications and function as reducing and bleaching agents.
Non-food grades are certified to ZDHC MRSL Level 3 V3.1, and food-grade sodium metabisulfite (E223) is also offered. End markets include water treatment, mining, pulp and paper, and food processing.
