IGNIS provides a shared operational view for aerial and ground wildfire responders.
IGNIS is built by Bridger Aerospace, which operates the multi-mission aircraft that feed aerial imagery, livestream video, and flight tracks into the platform. That combination lets incident teams see fire behaviour from the air in real time without integrating a separate aviation data provider.
Its offline Bluetooth mesh sharing lets devices exchange fire features and perimeter updates where cellular service is absent, synchronising the network once any device reconnects. Field crews can contribute lines and points directly to the operational map, and the free tier keeps georeferenced PDF mapping available to individual firefighters.
Creating and managing an incident requires the paid IGNIS Pro tier, and the live aerial video feed is available only when Bridger aircraft are assigned to the incident. Organisations operating their own aviation assets do not receive that integration from this platform.
Public user reviews report map distortion when zooming out on Android phones and iPads, and note that importing PDF maps from a device's file storage has been unreliable. IGNIS is distributed for iOS, Android, and the web, but is not offered as a standalone desktop application.
IGNIS is the wildfire technology platform of Bridger Aerospace, developed by Ignis Technologies, Inc., a company Bridger acquired in 2023. The mobile platform became available to firefighters in 2024, when Bridger reported that the app had launched and that counties, crews, and incident management teams were using it in field trials.
The offering has since expanded beyond the free fireline mapping app into a paid IGNIS Pro tier that adds incident creation and management, team and personnel-location sharing, and live aerial video when Bridger aircraft are assigned to an incident. Bridger describes the platform as continuing to develop alongside its aerial firefighting operations.
IGNIS is a field-first common operating picture for emergency response, delivering real-time situational awareness to wildland firefighters and incident managers on iOS, Android, and the web. Teams use it to view current fire perimeters, dozer and hand lines, helicopter dip sites, and aircraft drop targets on a shared incident map.
The platform adds georeferenced PDF map overlays in three dimensions, fire-specific symbology and track recording, fire weather forecasting, and curated wildland fire layers. IGNIS also serves as an incident information hub for action plans, briefing materials, and communications plans, and it integrates aerial intelligence such as livestream video and aircraft position into the same map.
