Omaha-based Buildertrend marks 20 years since its 2006 founding, continuing to provide software solutions for home builders from its headquarters in Omaha. The company employs more than 700 people and serves over 20,000 customers across 100 countries; its history includes a bootstrapped start, partnerships and acquisitions.
Buildertrend reduces its workforce by 16% in a company-wide reorganization, leaving the company with about 800 employees. Leadership describes the move as a strategic realignment to bring costs in line with growth objectives, rather than a response to market conditions.
Buildertrend partners with The Home Depot to bring Pro Xtra pricing, real-time product availability, and receipt syncing into its construction project management app. The integration gives contractors access to purchasing discounts and lets them track purchases within the platform.
Buildertrend, a construction management software company, receives its first institutional investment from Bain Capital Tech Opportunities and HGGC. The investment will support growth, acquisitions, and expansion into payments, data analytics, and contractor services; the private transaction’s financial terms are undisclosed.
