Bukalapak is an Indonesian technology company founded on January 10, 2010, by Achmad Zaky, Fajrin Rasyid, and Nugroho Herucahyono and headquartered in Jakarta. It operates online marketplace and digital-services platforms that connect small and medium enterprises with consumers, alongside Mitra Bukalapak, a nationwide network of neighborhood kiosks (warungs). The company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange under the ticker BUKA in August 2021, in one of the largest public offerings in Indonesian history.
In January 2025, amid intense competition from TikTok Shop and other regional marketplaces, Bukalapak said it would phase out physical-goods sales on its consumer marketplace and refocus on virtual products, digital services, and the Mitra Bukalapak kiosk network. The shift followed a sharp workforce reduction, with recent exchange filings reporting around 419 employees, down from a peak near 3,000. Founding chief executive Achmad Zaky led the company early growth, and Teddy Oetomo served as President from 2020 to late 2024.
