China Resources Double-Crane began as Li Hua Pharmaceutical Factory, a military pharmaceutical factory in Taihang, and after relocating to Beijing became the first state-owned chemical pharmaceutical factory there, later renamed Beijing Pharmaceutical Factory. Its assets were consolidated into Double-Crane Pharmaceutical, which listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and it now serves as the pharmaceutical business platform of China Resources (Holdings). Its business covers drug development, formulation and active ingredient production, pharmaceutical sales and pharmaceutical equipment.

The company competes on the breadth of its therapeutic coverage, spanning chronic disease, infusion, pediatrics, nephrology, neuroscience, oncology and women's health. It operates production bases across Chinese provinces and cities, and it is entering emerging fields such as synthetic biology.
