Climactic co-founder Josh Felser launches Material Scale, a hybrid debt-equity vehicle that helps materials startups scale production against bulk customer purchases. Initially focused on climate-tech apparel, the platform uses buyer commitments to cover material costs and provides the remaining funds through loans and warrants. Ralph Lauren joins as an initial buyer, and Structure Climate joins Climactic as a general partner. Material Scale’s first investments come from an approximately $11 million vehicle, though it has not executed any deals yet.
