Community Energy was a renewable energy developer that pioneered utility-scale wind and solar projects across the United States. In March 2006, Iberdrola acquired its wind development business as its entry into the American renewable energy market.
The company subsequently focused on utility-scale solar and energy storage development until December 2021, when AES Corporation acquired its solar development business and project pipeline. Its development assets and personnel were integrated into AES Clean Energy.
