Elucid sells two linked offerings built on one algorithm: Plaque-IQ, an FDA-cleared plaque analysis, and FFR-CT, a fractional flow reserve derivation that remained under FDA 510(k) review as of September 2026.
Plaque-IQ reads a routine coronary CT angiogram and reports plaque volume and composition lesion by lesion, validated against histology and indicated for both coronary and carotid arteries. A lesion inspection tool released in April 2026 lets clinicians drill into individual lesions inside that analysis.
Elucid's differentiator is histology-based validation: Plaque-IQ classifies plaque against ground-truth pathology rather than a reader's visual estimate of the scan, and it is the only FDA-cleared non-invasive CT plaque analysis indicated for both coronary and carotid arteries.
Reimbursement is already in place through CMS, EviCore and United Healthcare, and a Category I CPT designation took effect January 1, 2026, removing a common commercial barrier for novel imaging analyses. Deriving FFR-CT from the same plaque model also keeps physiology and anatomy findings internally consistent.
Elucid competes against better-capitalized CT plaque analysis vendors: HeartFlow and Cleerly both hold FDA clearances and larger commercial footprints, while Caristo Medical and Artrya have entered the same United States market.
Elucid's FFR-CT remained under FDA 510(k) review as of September 2026, so HeartFlow can bundle a cleared FFRCT analysis with plaque assessment today while Elucid sells only the plaque half. Adoption further depends on cardiology practices changing established CT reading workflows.
