Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange

Federated is a not-for-profit, member-owned insurance exchange that its founders established to insure only electric cooperatives, and it offers rural utilities an All Risk Blanket Policy. Members of the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (WEC) Job Training and Safety Committee spent more than four years in meetings, planning and research for Federated’s formation. The policy covers property, general liability, automobile and crime in one policy, and Federated offers rural utilities a Directors, Officers and Managers Liability policy.

Federated can place insurance solutions beyond its own paper through regional and national carriers. It also offers rural electric utilities an Electromagnetic Field Liability policy.
