NexTitan, the company's drilling system, is an autonomous downhole drive that senses and responds to drilling conditions at the bit. The tool grips the wellbore above the drilling assembly and applies controlled axial thrust to the bit through an electrohydraulic actuator powered by drilling fluid, instead of transferring weight through kilometers of drill string. It is built for oil and gas and geothermal wells, where conventional weight transfer struggles most.
Other downhole tools on the market are passive or reactive, absorbing vibration or delivering thrust without control, while NexTitan applies and controls force at the bit downhole in a closed loop. The tool is rated to 175 degrees Celsius circulating temperature at the bit, which covers most current geothermal targets. Its use cases include inclined and horizontal geothermal wells, offshore wells with high day rates, and coiled tubing drilling.
