GERB NOVODAMP closed-cell polyurethane provides elastic support and vibration isolation for buildings and rail infrastructure.
NOVODAMP is a closed-cell polyurethane material that GERB develops and manufactures in Germany for elastic support and vibration isolation in buildings, rail infrastructure, and mass-spring systems. It isolates at higher frequencies from roughly 8 Hz, complementing GERB's low-frequency spring elements. Fifteen standard types in multiple thicknesses cover a range of load ranges and can be tailored to a project's bearing frequency.
The closed-cell structure resists water absorption and degradation from moisture and contaminants, which keeps support frequency stable in groundwater zones. GERB supplies the material cut or glued to shape with optional recesses and a protective fleece layer, and can combine it with elastomeric rubber foam in strip and pad bearings to reduce material cost.
