HUSSLUP, a job-search and networking app for entertainment workers, tells its 15,000 members it is taking an indefinite hiatus amid Hollywood’s prolonged job slowdown. Founder and CEO H Schuster says industry contraction and the aftermath of strikes make it difficult to generate revenue and raise capital; the company raised $2.5 million in 2022 after a pre-seed round the prior year. HUSSLUP hopes to relaunch when the industry recovers, but says it will delete user profile data when the app goes offline.
