LangChain combines open-source agent frameworks with LangSmith, a commercial platform spanning agent testing, tracing, deployment, monitoring, and improvement. The company says its open-source tools have surpassed one billion downloads and its services are used by 35% of Fortune 500 companies.
LangSmith can be used with agents built outside LangChain's frameworks. Its paid platform offers cloud, hybrid, and self-hosted deployment options, giving teams a choice of runtime and data-control models.
Stored rounds record a Seed financing of $10M, a Series A of $25M, and a Series B of $125M dated in October 2025. The company announcement places the Series B valuation at $1.25B with IVP leading and participation from established and new backers.
The announcement also names additional strategic participants and ties the financing to platform releases and operating scale. Reported traction at that time included tens of millions of monthly framework downloads and use across a large share of the Fortune 500.
LangChain offers open-source agent frameworks alongside a commercial platform for the full agent lifecycle. The frameworks address rapid starts and controlled orchestration, while the platform covers observation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
The current positioning emphasizes model choice, memory and context control, evaluation on production behavior, and deployment on shared or private infrastructure. Newer additions include automated behavior insights and a text-guided builder intended to widen agent creation beyond specialists.
