Salesforce signs a definitive agreement to acquire Listen Labs, an AI customer-research startup, in a deal reportedly worth about $2 billion, though terms remain undisclosed. Listen Labs uses AI agents to recruit participants, conduct interviews, analyze responses and simulate customer behavior with digital twins; Salesforce says its recruiting network reaches more than 50 million potential participants across over 120 languages. Salesforce plans to use the technology in Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud, and Listen Labs co-founders Alfred Wahlforss and Florian Juengermann will join Salesforce AI Labs. The deal is expected to close in fiscal 2027’s fourth quarter, pending regulatory clearance.
Salesforce’s Listen Labs deal could signal the start of broader AI disruption in consumer research. Companies are looking to replace older, manual customer-research methods with faster ways to learn what customers think.
