Each message is recorded to the buyer instructions rather than drawn from a fixed catalogue, and the talent holds artistic freedom over how the request is interpreted while keeping ownership of the video, with the buyer granted a personal licence for non-commercial use. Orders come from relatives of a fan buying a greeting for someone else as well as from companies buying messages on behalf of the business, and the finished video arrives as a link that can be forwarded or downloaded and kept.
