Satlyt raises $8 million in a seed round led by Non Sibi Ventures to develop AI software that processes satellite data onboard. Its platform runs on satellites equipped with GPUs, reducing the information sent to Earth. On a Momentus-built satellite, it ran Google’s Gemma 3 1B model and reduced telemetry sent down for analysis by more than 64% in simulated software-error tests.
Juno Propulsion receives a $1.2 million NSF Phase II SBIR grant to advance its non-toxic in-space propulsion system, in partnership with the University of Washington and Professor Carl Knowlen’s lab. The two-year project supports development of the company’s rotating-detonation-engine Product Development Unit toward Technology Readiness Level 8, while Juno prepares to demonstrate its propulsion technology aboard Momentus’ Vigoride 8 platform in 2027.
Momentus signs a commercial contract with the University of Colorado Boulder's LASP to host and operate the OWLS space-weather mission on its Vigoride-9 orbital service vehicle. The agreement covers both hosting and operation of the mission aboard the vehicle, according to the announcement.
Momentus reports approximately $76 million in cash and a debt-free balance sheet following capital raises. Its Vigoride 7 mission has begun hosted payload operations for U.S. defense, NASA, and commercial customers. The company says progress in executing its current space mission reinforces its long-term growth strategy.
