NALA Membranes produces chlorine-tolerant reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membrane elements for industrial water treatment. The membranes are built on a patented sulfonated polysulfone layer and are designed as drop-in replacements for conventional polyamide elements.
Target applications include industrial wastewater reuse, zero liquid discharge, brackish water treatment, and desalination pretreatment where biofouling and chemical tolerance are critical.
NALA's membranes use a patented sulfonated polysulfone separation layer rather than conventional polyamide, making them stable to chlorine bleach across a wider pH range. The smoother surface reduces fouling, allowing longer operating cycles and more aggressive cleaning without membrane damage.
This chlorine tolerance lets operators use chlorine directly for biofouling control, reducing downtime, energy use, and pretreatment complexity compared with standard thin-film composite polyamide membranes.
