Nanexa develops and partners PharmaShell, its proprietary drug delivery platform based on atomic layer deposition. The platform coats active pharmaceutical ingredient particles with an ultra-thin, precisely engineered layer, with composition and thickness tailored to control how medicine releases after injection. PharmaShell has been tested on small molecules and biological medicines such as peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotides and mRNA.
Long-acting formulations can be developed across multiple therapeutic areas without changing the underlying drug molecule. Selected candidates progress through formulation, preclinical and clinical stages to clinical proof of concept. Nanexa partners with pharmaceutical companies that use PharmaShell on their active substances.
